Bremex aims to provide an inspirational and welcoming setting to practise, improve and share the skills involved in hillwalking, mountaineering and climbing.
Bremex has no formal ‘base’ and our activities are undertaken on a peer-to-peer basis. In this way people can learn from more experienced club members.
The club provides a structure for the weekend which includes a weekend organiser. Members are organised into peer groups to share knowledge and to practise skills. Many members have practised for, or are practising for NGB awards. Weekend meets might include incident management, security on steep ground, scrambling rope work or poor visibility navigation.
The club comprises all levels of experience including some very experienced members. Virtually all our members have their Summer Mountain Leader award; many have their Winter ML, and we have members with their MIC and International Mountain Leader awards.
Members with all levels of experience are welcome to come along, get involved and gain from the knowledge of more experienced members,
Weekend meets are planned nationally, from the Peak District to Scotland and include the mountain and upland areas in between.
